Notes on X-Headstage IP68 rating

The X-Headstage has been tested for IP68 rating by a third party (test report here).  The rating is achieved with the following:
  1. An IP armor is configured with the headstage
  2. The optional moisture resistance coating must be specified at the time of the order. This adds about 100nm of conformal parylene coating to the entire device.
While the headstage can be made and configured to be moisture resistant, care must be taken around both connectors - the system interface connector, the µHDMI or the 12-pin Omnetics, or the probe-facing board-to-board connector.  Silicone can be applied around the connectors once connections are made.  The connection can be disconnected by peeling off the silicone.  If you require more frequent and easier disconnection, X-Headstage connectors can be customized to water-proof type.

If necessary, a thicker (5µm) perylene coating can be applied instead of the standard 100nm.
